About Us
Our Story
In 2014 during the Boko Haram religious massacre at Bornu State, Nigeria when the unfortunate incidence of the Chibok girls kidnapping occurred , many residents fled their homes to different parts of Nigeria including Lagos.
Out of these refugees who fled to Lagos were pregnant mothers . Our Founder, Gennesaret Adaeze Ajuka, started a short-lived crochet empowerment program for some of them at Addo Ajah axis in Lagos. Adaeze’s first crochet gift item was a christening shoe that she made for the newborn daughter of one of the pregnant refugee mothers called “Mama Arosa”.
Fast forward to May 2024, when MUNAGI finally became a longterm reality. Specifically created to use crocheting as a weapon for fighting against poverty in the lives of African women & girls. What started with just the founder and one trainee has now grown to include over 8 employees as of April 2025. So far over 100 beneficiaries have benefited in our community crochet training sessions.
At Munagihandmadecrochet, we combine traditional African creativity with contemporary designs , creating beautiful, sustainable products while empowering women & girls.
Our Mission

Our Vision
